On 27 Sept. 2024, the ATLAS survey in Hawaii discovered a new comet, A11bP7I, likely a Kreutz sungrazer, expected to reach perihelion on 28 October and potentially put on a spectacular show. Follow-up observations were conducted using the ARTEC250+Paramount ME+C3Pro61000EC robotic unit in Italy. Initial images showed the comet with a hint of a tail and possible secondary fragment. Further observations confirmed the comet’s visibility and potential fragmentation. Excitement grows as the comet brightens, but patience and prudence are advised. Kreutz sungrazers have historically produced stunning performances.
