Remnants of Tropical Depression Beryl were moving towards the Chicago area early Tuesday, bringing the risk of flash flooding and heavy rain through Wednesday. Beryl made landfall as a Category 1 hurricane in Texas on Monday, causing power outages and tornado warnings. By Tuesday morning, it had weakened to a Tropical Depression with 30 mph winds, moving across Arkansas. Heavy rain was expected in Chicago and Northwest Indiana by 9 a.m., with the heaviest impacts in Chicago’s southern counties and Northwest Indiana. Beryl could be downgraded further by afternoon.
