Saeed Jalili and Masoud Pezeshkian are the final candidates in Iran’s presidential run-off. Jalili, known for his role as Iran’s chief nuclear negotiator (2007-2012), is a representative of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on the Supreme National Security Council. Pezeshkian, a heart surgeon and parliament member since 2008, has held various health-related government positions, including health minister and deputy parliament speaker.
