On October 4th, 2023, the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) announced a ratification vote deal which resulted in a successful writers’ strike resolution. After nearly 300 sessions of negotiation, the two organizations were able to come to an agreement that was satisfactory to both sides. This groundbreaking deal will surely benefit all involved in the industry and ensure that writers can continue to create the content that surely shapes our cultural landscape.

The third day of negotiations between the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) is due to be held on Wednesday. SAG-AFTRA is pushing for new terms for their members, such as improved wages,an end to “joint employer” status and improved safety protocols on set. The two sides are also expected to discuss flexible working conditions for media projects. Both sides remain in ongoing negotiations for a potential agreement which will be beneficial for all involved.

Following a months-long lull due to the pandemic, the Screen Actors Guild‐American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) and Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) have finally resumed negotiations in an effort to settle their differences and end the SAG-AFTRA union strike. The situation has been ongoing since April 2019 when members of the union voted overwhelmingly for a new contract. Both sides are putting in the effort to find a resolution as quickly as possible.
