Nasa has been warned by its own safety panel that transitioning and privatizing the International Space Station (ISS) could be risky. The panel has raised concerns regarding the potential distinctions between the ISS and any commercial replacement, as well as the sustainability of private operations and the willingness of other countries to share in such a project. Although the report seems to put a damper on things, Nasa’s long-term plan still appears to be moving forward.
A 3-judge panel from the United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia has ordered that new legislative maps must be drawn in the state of Georgia by December 9th, 2021 in order to fix the racial gerrymandering within the current maps. This is a result of a case brought forward by a bipartisan coalition of civil rights voter advocacy groups in the state. The new maps are expected to benefit Democrats, potentially leading to major shifts in power within the state.
